Governments of Macedonia and Serbia working together on specific projects

-

Governments of Macedonia and Serbia today, after the second consecutive joint session, signed seven bilateral agreements in the field of economy, health, education, culture and foreign affairs.
Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that the joint session, after the one in Belgrade, confirms the continuity and the excellent cooperation between the two countries and that the excellent political cooperation is the basis for improving the economic relations, which was most emphasized today’s meeting.
– The common conclusion is that better economic relations could be achieved through specific projects and infrastructure and energy connectivity, as well as through stimulating trade, investments and joint appearance on third markets. The two countries will jointly continue increasing the activities of trade and facilitating cooperation between the business community and the private sectors in both countries. Through the signing of many agreements, it is shown in practice that this form of cooperation through joint government sessions also generates realization of many specific initiatives in different areas and thus contributes to the enhancement of overall bilateral relations – said Gruevski.
His colleague, Aleksandar Vuchik, said that, in his view, today’s session was more successful than the one held in Belgrade.
– More successful because we became better acquainted, we specified some things and we didn’t only came out with these seven contracts, but with many projects as well. We talked about joint procurement of vaccines and thus save money in the budget of the two countries, as well as on how to finish the issue of Corridor 10 at the same time in September 2016. I think it’s very important that we are working on a lot of projects in the field of energy, as 400 kilowatt line Nish-Shtip. We also discussed about gas interconnection Vranje-Kumanovo and we will realize it because it opens more opportunities for connecting pipelines from any direction. At the same time, we talked about the construction of a railroad that would lead to the territory of Greece and it would be of great interest to both countries – said Vuchik.
