The former intelligence officer Zoran Verushevski will receive amends in the amount of 42.000 euros from the state due to his arrest and 344 days into custody for the case “Putsch” and authorized carrying weapons. In its verdict, the Basic Court Skopje 2 stressed that Verushevski has suffered trauma because of his arrest in 2015 when he spent 11 months in detention.
Zoran Verushevski sued the state due to unfounded arrest demanding 71.000 euros in his lawsuit. In his verdict, the judge stressed that Verushevski has the right to appeal because he received fewer assets than what he requested. Even the state has the right to lodge an appeal.
Verushevski was taken into custody from the former authorities immediately after the wiretapped conversations were published by SDSM. In the case of Putsch, veru[evski was accused of treason and espionage.
