EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn this morning held an urgent meeting with the mediators of the Przhino Agreement, MEPs Richard Howitt, Ivo Vajgl and Eduard Kukan on yesterday’s decision by President Gjorge Ivanov to stop the trials of political leaders.
Howitt wrote on Twitter about the meeting and said in addition to the photo of the meeting, that after the meeting a statement would follow.

Yesterday Hahn and Howitt condemned Ivanov’s decision, saying it raises serious concerns about the rule of law in the country.
MEP Richard Howitt warned of very serious consequences if any of the parties or individual is responsible for violating the Przhino Agreement while Hahn said that after recent events he had serious doubts whether credible elections are still possible.
Ivanov in his address to the nation explained that the he came to the decision alone and that it aims to end the political crisis that has failed to be resolved by the Przhino Agreement.
