It is necessary that a Commission for licensing Albanian proofreaders is founded in the Republic of North Macedonia before choosing the complete personnel at the Agency for the implementation of the Law on languages i.e. the Albanian language. The proofreaders will have to stop the shameful practice of sacrilege of the Albanian language on boards at institutions and its wider use in this country informs Portalb.mk.
In order to have proofreaders, a Commission for their licensing should exist. As an illustration, there is a Commission for licensing proofreaders for Macedonian language, that based upon the Law of Macedonian language is formed by the Ministry of Culture and consists by a president and four members “professionals from this area, with a 4-year mandate, and with a possibility to be re-elected.” The Commission’s obligation is to carry out testing for the licensing of proofreaders for Macedonian language.
Article 18, Alinea 3 of the Law on the use of languages, states that the Agency for the implementation of the Law on the use of languages apart from authorized court translators it will employ graduated linguists and Albanian language philologists, including licensed proofreaders.
The Commission was discussed by a government inter-department group but no decision has been made how it will be formed.
Apparently, there two options: to make changes in the Law on the use of languages and the forming of the Commission to be planned by it together with a president, mandate, authorizations and responsibilities or the Commission to be formed within one of the universities or one of the ministries.
