The Public Prosecutor’s Office has stated that fugitive Nikola Vojminovski, who was sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison for the attempted murder of Zijadin Sela during the violence in the Parliament on April 27, 2017, was given house arrest due to health reasons
Vojminovski was under house arrest and was awaiting sentencing. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
The prosecution recalls that all seven defendants were sentenced to prison for the murder attempt.
The statement reads that after the pronouncement of the verdict, the competent public prosecutor requested a resumption of domestic detention because Vojminovski’s health condition was still poor. The prosecutor at that stage, neither before nor after, had any information about a “possible escape”. In addition, in order to monitor the measures applied to the convicted person, it is the court, and not those being prosecuted, say the Prosecutor.
