From September 5 – 11 there will also be a series of humanitarian activities held, of which the central event and highlight on the final day of celebrations on Sunday, September 11, at her place of birth and in her honour, the Square of Macedonia will be declared a temple.

The leader of the VMRO-DPMNE Nikola Gruevski, wrote on his “Facebook” profile that he had taken initiative, to establish an international Order of Merit “Mother Teresa”, which will give awards to other prominent women of the world with special and extraordinary achievements in various fields.

“Therefore, on this historical day, after many talks with friends and associates, I decided to start an initiative to establish, by law, an International Order of Merit “Mother Theresa” which would be given to prominent women of the world with special and extraordinary achievements in different areas, especially in the philanthropy, humanity, helping the ill and poor with personal sacrifice and risk, various achievements with similar acts for peace and humanity.  The very idea of the order of merit is to establish precise criteria with a single domestic and international board that would mandatorily include the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, but also other people from Macedonia, and prominent people from different countries in the world.
There would be a precise order, following the principle and example with the countries that have great tradition of this kind, such as France or England. The very act of giving the order of merit would affirm the life and deed of Mother Theresa, but would also affirm Macedonia. Of course, this will be a great honour for those who shall deserve the order”, wrote Gruevski on his “Facebook” profile.
