The prosecutorship requests Makpetrol’s bank accounts to be unblocked

-

The Primary public prosecutorship in Skopje has submitted a request to the judge who presided of a previous case involving Makpetrol, that the company’s accounts should be unblocked, including those of Oilko, because, following the presenting of further evidence yesterday, it was concluded there is a “need for releasing of the accounts of the company in order to enable it to continue operating.”

“The Primary public prosecutorship in Skopje reacted on information released in the media yesterday and obtained further evidence that lead to unblocking of the accounts of Makpetrol to enable the company to perform its functions and its subsidiaries and sister companies, in which Makpetrol figures as the major shareholder or the only source of finance. Based on these reasons of the appeal request that is underway in the Primary court Skopje 1, submitted by Makpetrol AD and Oilko KDA – Skopje, against the decision by a judge of a previous case involving these parties where they were devoid of financial transaction and received supervision of their property by the authorities. The court has answered the appeal from the Primary public prosecutorship Skopje which requests from the court to validate the appeal for releasing of the companies’ banking accounts,” says in the announcement by the prosecutorship.

Official persons from the prosecutorship say that the judge has received a request for supervision of daily profits and transactions on the books of Makpetrol and Oilko.

The prosecutorship informs that there is underway a due diligence regarding the criminal charges the Ministry of Interior submitted against 21 persons, among which is the President of the Executive Board of Makpetrol and several other executives in the oil and gas supplier. According to the prosecutors, and in accordance with the Law for criminal charges (ZKP), the due diligence phase by the public prosecutor office and the police is covert and it is in the best interest of that process to withhold revealing details.
