NATO’s General Secretary, Jens Stoltenberg has announced that he has congratulated the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on the formation of the new government.
I spoke with Prime Minister Zaev today and congratulated him on his new responsibilities. We agreed on the importance of addressing urgently needed reforms, including on good governance and the rule of law. These reforms will benefit all citizens of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and will further advance the country’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
He stressed that NATO is interested in a stable, democratic and prosperous Macedonia, as part of a stable Western Balkans.
As Skopje makes progress, NATO will continue to provide support, including through our NATO Liaison Office in the capital – said Stoltenberg.
