Next week, Hahn will be in Skopje, Zaev in Belgrade, a session with the Bulgarian Government and five trials

Next week, Macedonian politicians, as well as the courts, will have a packed agenda. EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn is expected to visit a government delegation in Serbia and a joint session of the governments of Macedonia and Bulgaria.

In Skopje’s Criminal Court, hearings on the cases “Bribe”, “Slaps”, “Trust”, “Trista” and “Sopot”, which are of great interest to the public, are scheduled for next week.

  • 20/21 November (Monday-Tuesday) – Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will pay an official visit to Serbia, where he will meet with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
  • 20/21 November (Monday/Tuesday) – EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn will arrive in Macedonia, after meeting this week in Brussels with Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani and Macedonian Foreign Minister, Nikola Dimitrov. “I look forward to my visit to Skopje next week, through political meetings and meetings with civil society”, wrote Hahn on Twitter.
  • 20 November (Monday) – The “Bribe” case is scheduled in the Criminal Court, where Zaev is expected to appear, however, on the same day he has a meeting with Hahn, and he is meant to be travelling to Belgrade, so there is a possibility that the hearing might be postponed.
  • 20 November (Monday) – At the “Aleksandar Palace” Hotel, there will be a public discussion on the draft amendments to the Law on Audio and Audiovisual Media Services, which will be attended by the Minister of Information Society and Administration Damjan Mancevski and the Minister without Portfolio in charge of Communication, transparency and accountability, Robert Popovski.
  • November 21 (Tuesday) – There will be hearings on the SPO’s cases, “Trust” and “Trista”.
  • November 22 (Wednesday) – The second reading of the Law on the use of languages will be put forward to the European Affairs Committee.
  • November 22 (Wednesday) – Day of the Albanian Alphabet.
  • November 23 (Thursday) – A joint session of the governments of Macedonia and Bulgaria where ten new agreements will be signed.
  • November 23 (Thursday) – The trial for “Sopot” is scheduled for the Criminal Court.

During next week, or perhaps the week after, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani, is expected to visit Greece, and meet with Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias.
