After raising the wire fence of the Macedonian-Greek border in Gevgelija, from Greece a daily average of 2,640 migrants are entering Macedonia, which is half than the previous period, according to the Ministry of Interior (MOI) statement for “Meta”.
Yesterday, according to the Ministry, a total of 3,784 migrants had been registered and were issued confirmation, most of whom are nationals of Syria, a total of 1783 people, 870 from Afghanistan and 1,131 migrants from Iraq. Since June 19, when the country began issuing certificates, until yesterday, according to the Interior Ministry, a total of 325,543 migrants have crossed through the border.
The wire fence at quota 59 on the southern border was rasied on November 28, and in recent days the Macedonian Army (ARM) started setting up another fence at the border crossing Medzitlija.
