Macedonian army’s General Staff informed that there are two confirmed cases of members of the army that were tested positive to the coronavirus. These are an officer and a solider serving in Skopje. One of them worked in the army’s restaurant at the Ilinden army barracks.
“As soon as it was confirmed, the army restaurant was completely disinfected all measures were taken. The restaurant will be closed in the next 24 hours and the personnel will be served cold meal. All of the personnel that was in touch with this person was sent into isolation and new personnel will be used instead” informs the General Staff.
Both army members that are infected with the virus were already preventively in self-isolation since members of their families were suspected of potential Covid-19 virus infection.
The General Staff also informed that these two army members were not abroad. In the past period, the army has been observing the recommendations given by the Ministry of Health and several army members were put into self-isolation preventively.
