Macedonia must know that Kosovo should not be a member of UNESCO or Interpol, says Vulin

-

The Macedonian authorities should run their own country’s politics, but they should know that it is important to us, that Kosovo does not become a member of UNESCO and Interpol, said Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin today.

“Both Macedonia and every other country should know that the issue of UNESCO and the issue of Kosovo’s entry into Interpol is of great importance, and we strongly believe that Kosovo should not be part of these organizations”, said Vulin, adding that all countries that know this understand that bilateral relations largely depend on these issues.

He said that the Macedonian authorities are pushing the politics of their country and that Serbia had never given anyone any obstacles to independently decide about their country, because Serbia does not allow others to decide on her behalf.

Meanwhile, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, after an informal summit of prime ministers from the Western Balkans in Durrës, said she trusts partners from the region and said it was particularly important to keep to the agreed. She stressed that Macedonia’s eventual vote on Kosovo’s membership into UNESCO would not be in the interest of co-operation between Serbia and Macedonia.

“Zoran Zaev said that this year this will not be a topic, but it is important if it is a topic to stick to the agreed this year and next year. In any case, I think we will continue with dialogue. I trust our regional colleagues and I expect everyone to keep to their word”, said Brnabić.
