For exactly 12 days now, the President of the VMRO-DPMNE party Nikola Gruevski, has not been seen in public, he hasn’t appeared at any promotions, projects, nor has he made any statements. The last time he was last spotted by camera’s, was on April 28, at the promotion for the project “From the city to the village, for a new start”, at the VMRO Museum.
Only photographs have appeared in public after his meeting with MEP Marijana Petir on May 6.
“The President of the party is here and he is well and there is no need to worry”, Ivo Kotevski told “Meta”, when we asked the Director of Communications about the whereabouts of the former PM.
This isn’t Gruevski’s first “disappearance” from the public eye:
It is the 4th day the VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski, has not been seen in public after he was last seen on Friday (19 February 2016) at a meeting with businessmen at the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce.
His absence then was particularly unusual because the leader of the ruling party had regular party and government promotional activities and obligations.
He pulled another disappearing act, last summer, the media couldn’t locate the then Prime Minister, and days after there was still no information on his whereabouts. However, information appeared on “Twitter”, reporting that he was on holiday in Israel.
Yesterday sources from inside the party told “Meta” that the government is in daily talks with all parties, which is being coordinated by the international community, so they can come up with possible solutions and scenarios to pull the country out of the current political crisis.
“Maybe we will not participate in the elections either, we will give up and a third party will participate, win 10,000 votes and the elections will fall apart. Or, if the foreigners insist on a detrimental decision, maybe we should leave Government and the SDSM can make up a minority government with whoever they want”, said an unofficial source from the ruling party.
