Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva appeared before the Council of Public Prosecutors where the session has still not finished. She spent s short time in the Council, and while leaving said there was no need to explain to the members of the Council why she believes she is responsible for the cases “Magyar Telecom”, “Spy ‘and’ Verushevski” and she cited the law on the SPP where it specifically states that the SPP is an autonomous and independent body.
The President of the Council Petar Anevski, had called upon Janeva to appear before the Council numerous times, to explain her report of the first six months of activities at the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
Since then the SPP have stated that Janeva will not attend the session, because there is no legal basis for it.
Two days ago, Petar Anevski said that the Council of Public Prosecutors assessed the SPP’s report as negative, but did not explain why they came to such an assessment. He then called Janeva again to come to the Council and to explain why she is requesting the cases,”Magyar Telecom”, “Spy” and “Verushevski.”
