Croatia fully supports Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic path, and because of the name dispute, the country cannot endlessly be maintained on the way, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovik said after the meeting with President Gjorge Ivanov today in Zagreb.

“Croatia supports membership of our neighbors in the EU and NATO because it is a condition for lasting peace, stability and prosperity in Southeastern Europe and thus should change its image in the world and to make this space which will be invested and which will economically progress,” said the Croatian President.

President Gjorge Ivanov said that the support that Macedonia receives from Croatia in Euro-Atlantic integration is of the utmost importance, and that the country must get what it deserves, i.e. EU and NATO membership.

“We opened the issue of NATO membership for how Macedonia to get what it deserves to be a member of NATO since the blockade we had so far suggests great frustration of the population in Macedonia,” Ivanov said after the meeting.
