“I welcome the demonstrated awareness and willingness of political leaders to overcome outstanding issues. The fact that past leaders of the political parties talk to each other and seek ways to overcome the current political situation in the Republic of Macedonia is commendable”, reads the statement of head of state Gjorgje Ivanov after yesterday’s negotiations in Skopje between the leaders of the political parties.
“There is optimism to overcome the current political crisis in Macedonia. I urge all participants in the political dialogue in the next period to behave reasonably and responsibly. I expect dedicated, responsible and consistent approach to dialogue to restore political stability in the country from them. Macedonian citizens expect political maturity and readiness to solve all the institutional challenges in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Macedonia. Citizens expect results and sustainable solutions. I expect the same. All must act solely in the interests of citizens and the state, the Republic of Macedonia. The involvement of European Union in these discussions clearly shows that European and Euro-Atlantic agenda of the Republic of Macedonia is the main priority in the country. Priority which obliges political leaders to work in order to achieve European criteria, standards and principles. Macedonian citizens expect it from the leaders of the political parties. It is their exceptional commitment to the citizens,” reads the statement.
