With 11 votes “for” and two “against,” the Judicial Council elected judge Ivan Džolev as President of the Basic Court Skopje 1.
Previously, the resignation of the acting president of the Criminal Court, Stojanche Ribarev, was accepted, who, as was discussed during the session, has submitted his resignation due to health reasons i.e. after undergoing a surgical procedure.
Džolev is the judge who recently announced that the former president of the court, Vladimir Panchevski was exacting pressure upon an already sentenced court verdict. Džolev has filed criminal charges against Panchevski and concerning his accusations both the Council for determining facts and the Judicial Council have presided over.
