US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Yee reiterated the appeal to the Macedonian authorities to deal with the wiretapping case, as well as the appeal to the opposition to return to the Assembly, reports “24 News”.
“We support Macedonia’s aspirations for membership in NATO and the EU. We appeal to the government to deal with the intercepted material in a way that demonstrates the commitment of the Euro-Atlantic principles. With the new government in Athens, we urge both sides to reach a mutually acceptable solution to the name dispute – Yee said at a session of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives.
