In his first interview after signing the agreement of Przhino, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said he was very pleased with what has been achieved with this agreement because it had ended a bad time for the country and bad time for the economy.
In the interview for “Netpress”, Gruevski said that this agreement provides progress and Euro-Atlantic and European perspective of the country to remain.
– We are already working, and until the crisis was resolved, we were already committed to resolve issues that were raised by the European Commission, which have been indicated. So we didn’t sit, we didn’t wait for SDSM to de-escalate with their behavior, to return to the working groups – said the PM when asked whether the crisis has affected the course of reforms.
He still expects certain blockades from the opposition.
– They probably will again try to create some smaller or larger tension because they don’t know otherwise and don’t know how to work, that is the style of their work, they always tried to come to power, to get to power, by creating some kind of crisis. So we should not be surprised if in the future, perhaps not of such great caliber, but a smaller caliber, they to try to defocus our attention, away from everyday projects to reduce the dynamics of these projects, but we will closely follow all of that, we will manage it, and will not let them take us away from the path of solving the problems of the citizens – said Gruevski.
According to him, the final verdict will be passed by the citizens on April 24.
– They will give their verdict, for everything that was done and the state and across the nation, because people are hostage in this whole period. They know us and we them, they know me in all this time, in good times and in difficult times. And the people would have their say. Let them celebrate now, let them act joyful, let them act euphoric. The time will come, things will come in their place – said the Prime Minister.
He said that while there were some weaknesses in the rule of VMRO-DPMNE, however, fortunately, there were no strategic errors.
– People know to measure everything good and when the elections come, to make the step it knows that need to be done. So, I’m calm because I know that we have people who know how to choose a better program and a better team – concluded Gruevski.
