The financial committee of the Greek Parliament has asked from the MPs to return their January salaries. Salaries were already paid on 23rd of December, one week before the third vote for head of state, which led to early parliamentary elections and the dissolution of the Parliament.
Each of the 300 former MPs will have to return the salary of about 6,000 euros, a sum that still causes anger and dilemma among the people why at the time of high taxes and a reduction in average wages, salaries of MPs still remain so high and luxurious.
