Currently, according to data from the website of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, it is indicated that very high levels of PM10 particles are observed in the Skopje settlements Gazi Baba, Karposh, Lisiche and the measuring unit Rektorat, as well as in the municipalities of Tetovo, Kichevo, Veles, Kavadarci. In Kochani, Miladinovci and the Municipality of Centar pollution is high, while in Bitola is average. High concentration of carcinogens PM10 particles was registered in the past three days as well.
Usually, the concentration of PM10 particles reaches its maximum level in the evening, from 10 pm to 1 am.
If these values remain one more day, Skopje should issue a warning, and if pollution continues in the next five days as well, then the City of Skopje should spray the streets with calcium-magnesium acetate. Public Transport Company should introduce free public transport, and the Ministry of Interior should introduce driving system of odds and evens.
