Granit company from Skopje will continue with the building of the highway from Kichevo to Ohrid from the point from where Sead Kochan’s Transmet has previously stopped. The value of the unfinished construction works is 54.442.364 euros. Granit AD Skopje has signed an agreement to take over the subcontracting agreements from Transmet Doo and Hering DD Siroki Brijeg, states the Granit’s press release that was published at the Macedonian stock market.
The prime constructor of this highway is the Chinese company Sinohidro while Granit and other companies are subcontractors. This epilog arrives as soon as the Chinese bank Exim has granted the Macedonian authorities the necessary 380 million euros to finish the highway. During the same period, the Public Enterprise for State Roads is choosing a draughtsman that will help complete the project’s documentation for the highway which will help surpass the project’s mistakes.
The Minister of Transportation and Communications said today that during next year, half of the highway will be finished. The remaining part of the highway is planned to be completed by June 2021. The project for the highway costs 598 million euros.
