Four new cases with COVID’s Delta variant were registered in North Macedonia. With this, the number of people infected with the Delta variant has climbed to eight people. Yesterday’s suspicious cases of people that are treated in Skopje were confirmed to be infected with the Delta variant.
“We spoke with them, they had not many contacts with other people but members of their families. These are two families and there is no epidemiological risk,” said Health Minister Venko Filipche.
Filipche confirmed that the people infected with the Delta variant were traveling abroad. He also said that both cases with the Delta variant at the Zan Mitrev hospital have been confirmed, but they haven’t got any epidemiological data about these cases.
The Health Minister also said that by the end of this week, there will be a discussion with the members of the Commission for Infectious Diseases whether the current condition is demanding any imposing of new restrictive measures, but if new restrictive measures are discussed, these would refer to eventual imposing at border crossings upon people entering the country.
