European Commission cuts 27.1 million euros from Macedonia’s IPA funds

The European Commission has decided to cut 27.1 million euros from IPA funds for Macedonia, reports “Alsat M“.

The European Commission has informed the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, according to the information from this media outlet, and they are planning to cut 50 million euros from the remaining IPA funds.

The European Office who is responsible for investigations related to fraud in the European Commission, OLAF confirmed that they are investigating the misuse of funds from the IPA funds in Macedonia.

They added that during the investigation, they can not comment on detailed information about how the amount of sums being investigated.

Yesterday, the office of the International Momentary Fund (IMF) in Macedonia informed that with the completion of the mandate of the Permanent Representative Patrick Gitton, the IMF will not appoint a new representative in his place.
