Penalties for some of nuclear medicine doctors in Bitola hospital was announced by the management of Bitola clinical hospital after LDP Vice President, Goran Milevski, accused that, for several months now, there is no reagents for testing the hormone that regulates the thyroid gland in Bitola hospital, which is also a regional center.
At today’s press conference, the director of the hospital, Vasile Najdovski, justified that 13,300 reagents were purchased for 2014, which is 4,500 reagents more in comparison to 2013. But, as Najadovski said, because of improper application of legal obligation “evidence-based medicine”, some doctors from the nuclear medicine department exceeded the entire quantity for 2014 in June.
– Now a committee will be formed and it would be investigated who violated the law and to what extent and appropriate sanctions would be taken. Duplication of results of individual patients was established. This is probably due to the habits from the past. Four doctors took part in this incident, but we will see who was involved to what extent – said Najdovski.
