At the moment, all fires that were active yesterday are put under control, confirmed Adnan Dzaferoski, the Director of the Agency for Protection and Rescue for Meta Agency.
“The big fire in the Krushevo area, above the village of Norovo, was put under control today, and an ARM’s helicopter also took part in the extinguishing of the fire including the members of Civilian protection of the municipality of Krushevo and firefighter squads. The Ministry of Interior and the inspections are active and have arrested one person that connected to yesterday’s fires” said Dzaferoski.
The fire at Jablanica was also extinguished and in that area, there is a guard organized by the units of the local municipality and the firefighting squads in order to monitor the ongoing situation.
When asked by Meta Agency whether he has any knowledge whether someone has been setting fires on purpose or it’s an issue of irresponsible firing stubbles, Dzaferovski said that all previous cases of fires that happened in the last few days were caused by “deliberate and purposely fire-setting.”
Dzaferovski, also announced that the government has already started the process of reforming the managing system.
