Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts is extremely concerned by the deepening crisis in the country. The academy believes that the political crisis threatens to revive ghosts of historical divisions of the past.
“Overcoming the crisis is, above all, the duty and responsibility of the political and other factors, who should articulate their views and beliefs through dialogue and cooperation with the relevant European and international institutions. MANU believes that Macedonia will be best assisted if the European Commission and other European institutions speed up the process of its Euro-Atlantic integration, with the possible opening of negotiations for EU and NATO membership,” reads the statement of MANU.
