8 deaths, 136 new cases of COVID-19, and 43 recovered in North Macedonia

The Health Ministry of North Macedonia informs that in the past 24 hours, 136 new cases of COVID-19 infections were registered and 1.208 tests were conducted. New cases were reported in Skopje – 80 and Tetovo – 24. Kumanovo reported 6, Prilep and Veles reported 3 each, Ohrid -5, Gostivar and Resen – 4, while Strumica, Stip, Kriva Palanka, Kochani, Kichevo, Negotino, and Struga, each have one new COVID-19 case.

The Institute for Public Health registered 43 recovered patients, of which 26 are from Skopje.

8 persons have died. Yesterday, a 57-year-old patient from Veles died at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases. Two patients, aged 56 and 68 died at the “8th of September” Skopje City Hospital. Two other persons from Kumanovo, aged 47 and 59 died, then two persons from Tetovo, aged 78 and 47. A patient from Kichevo, aged 61 died at the General hospital in Bitola.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Macedonia has registered 5,445 confirmed coronavirus cases, while 2.091 patients have recovered. The death toll is 259. At the moment, there are 3,095 active cases nationwide, of which 1.785 active cases are registered in Skopje. The municipality in Skopje with the highest count of active cases is the municipality of Chair with 413 cases.
