VMRO-DPMNE is proposing 17 additional seats in the Assembly for the majority party

-

VMRO-DPMNE is suggesting a majority election model and 17 additional seats in parliament for the party that will win the next elections- said today Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski from Studenichani, adding that the additional seats will provide for a more stable government.

Gruevski emphasized that the majority model is factual in many countries and it functions successfully and that in Macedonia this model is used for electing municipal mayors.

-Mayors are elected by this model and so are representatives from the diaspora. We have experience with this and our proposal is to go with this system because that helps the voters to choose the person who they prefer the most to be their representative- said Gruevski.

He added a second proposal- that the winning party should get 17 additional seats which will allow for a more stable government which will work without facing blackmail from smaller parties.

-There will be a serious majority, there will be stability, the state will be stable and the government could put all of its attention towards solving the problems of the people- said Gruevski.
