“Turkish Stream” will still start after 2017

-

The beginning of the work on pipeline “Turkish Stream” cannot be expected before 2017, said Turkish Ambassador to Russia Umit Jardim. Recently, “Gazprom” announced an assessment that the pipeline will become operational in December 2016.

– A binding agreement for the construction of “Turkish Stream” between Moscow and Ankara is not yet signed, and it is expected that gas will flow after 2017 – Jardim said in an interview for “Interfax”.

He believes that when the project will be realized, it will be a great victory for Turkey and Russia. According to him, Moscow and Ankara continue talks on the issue.

“Turkish Stream” is an alternative to the project “Southern Stream”, because Russian President Vladimir Putin last December announced that the project is canceled due to opposition from the EU and announced that Russia plans to launch “Turkish Stream” which would end in Turkey through the Black Sea.
