In the upcoming early parliamentary elections, for the first time, there is going to be a polling station opened for the Macedonian diaspora in Abu Dhabi, UAE, as was decided by the State Election Commission at yesterday’s session.

Due to the large numbers of voters registering from abroad, the SEC decided yesterday to open two polling station in Venice and three in Bern. According to the information provided by the SEC, in order to cast their vote in Bern, Switzerland, there were confirmations by 4.000 Macedonian citizens, while in Venice – almost 3.000.

On the other hand, more than 20.520 Macedonian citizens from abroad can fulfill their right to vote at the early parliamentary elections set for the 11th of December.

Polling stations with more than a thousand reported in the diaspora can be located in Detroit and New York, USA, Melbourne, Australia and the capital of Italy, Rome.

For additional polling stations, the election committee  will yet have to meet to make a decision about them.

The president and the vice president of these election boards are employees at embassies and are consulate representatives. In the countries where these locations are opened, other members will be proposed by political parties.
