The Court has accepted the indictments filed by SPO for the Target and Fortress cases

The Criminal court in Skopje has accepted the indictments for the Target and Fortress cases filed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), confirmed the Court.

By their own words, the Council has given a green light for the case to go to trial. The case was already designated to a certain judge, and next Monday, a date for the start of the court process will be announced.

Otherwise, in the cases of Target and Fortress which are joined by a single indictment, the former Head of the Administration for Security and Counter-Intelligence (UBK), Sasho Mijalkov, the former Chief of his staff, Toni Jakimovski, the former Head of the Fifth Estate, Goran Grujovski and Nikola Boshkovski, an employee at UBK are the accused.

They are accused for illegal wiretapping and for the destruction of the surveillance equipment.

Grujovski and Boshkovski are located in an extradition custody in Thessaloniki after they were arrested at the Thessaloniki airport while they were attempting to leave for Budapest with forged Bulgarian passports.

At the Criminal Court, the procedure for collecting the material for the extradition procedure led by the Ministry of Justice is still undergoing.
