“The Leaders’ Meeting which has been announced for the next few days, has nothing to offer the crisis. This sort of meeting would be frivolous and I doubt it will even take place”. This is the statement Menduh Thaci gave reporters after last night’s Iftar dinner, which the DPA traditionally have in Tetovo.
The solution to the political crisis, according to Tachi, is a long-term solution. The formation of a technocratic government is unacceptable. The DPA believes that the formation of a broad coalition government is acceptable, and currently, half the ministerial seats which now belong to the DUI party should belong to the DPA. This solution for the crisis would mean holding parliamentary elections in the regular term, in 2018, said Tachi.
According to him, a broad coalition government should organise a census, which would ensure a clean electoral roll. For these types of statistical operations, it would take time, and it would be impossible to hold elections in autumn or next year in March, alongside local elections.
