The number of migrants that are transiting through Macedonia has been increasing. The Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MVR) announced that in the last three days they have given 1853 documents that recognize the right of exile for persons who have entered the country legally.
In the period between June 19 and July 25 the authorities have given 2065 documents for temporary stay to foreign citizens; of those, 2667 documents have been given to children accompanied by a parent and 191 to unaccompanied children. The better portion of migrants come from Syria- total of 15,290 followed by Afghans- 1,543, Iraqis- 1,172 and 676 migrants from Pakistan and other Middle Eastern countries.
