A thirty-three year old woman died during childbirth due to unprofessional procedure at the main hospital in Tetovo, whilst the baby was left fighting for its life and is in critical condition. The family blames the hospital for this tragic event. (NOVA TV)
An investigation is underway, and the gynaecologist who performed intervention has been suspended from work until the investigation is complete.
The night between the 19th and 20th of August, a real drama unfolded at the maternity ward at the hospital in Tetovo. A close family member says that the woman (VK) gave birth by caesarean section from 21:00 pm and lasted until midnight, but due to excessive bleeding and complications she was operated upon again at 3:00am.
Due to poor health that had befallen the young woman, she was transferred to clinics in Skopje KARIL, where at 8 am she was re-operated upon. The young mother died after a few days, and spent her last days on a ventilation machine and in intensive care.
