Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Defense Radmila Shekjerinska, the President of the Parliament Talat Xhaferi, along with the General Vasko Gjurchinovski and the US Ambassador Kate Byrnes, visited the US Aircraft Carrier Harry S. Truman, where they met with Admiral James Foggo, the of United States Naval Forces Europe – Naval Forces Africa and commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples, informed the government’s press service.
Zaev stressed that the meeting with Admiral Foggo at the carrier is a clear signal of our country’s active participation in the global processes that bring peace to the world.
-We are becoming a NATO membership in a period of an exceptional geo-strategic moment which is an extremely important moment in the zone of influences in Southeastern Europe, the Black Sea basin and the Mediterranean Sea from where the three continents are controlled. But the support from our strategic partners especially the US and other NATO members has created conditions for the invitation not to be called into question. North Macedonia is a factor of stability in the region i.e. a guarantee for security. NATO is the strongest guarantee for our stability, safety and the perseverance of our territorial integrity – said Prime Minister Zaev.
Defense Minister Radmila Shekjerinska stressed that the Aircraft carrier is already a part of our defense.
