Juncker also stressed that North Macedonia is ready for the next step, commencing negotiations and that he will always defend the country and his stance.

The EU Commissioner Hahn stressed that the country has met all of the tasks that were demanded of it and now it is up to the European Council to fulfill its promise from last year and to confirm a date for the opening of the chapters.
