Ivanov will not sit leaders of political parties at the same table

-

President Gjorgјe Ivanov won’t mediate negotiations between the leaders in the political process for exiting the crisis, as media speculated recently, learns META.

According to information from the president’s office, so far there is no sign of such an initiative.

After the failure of negotiations in Brussels, it is loudly speculated that they will continue, but there is no announcements about the format of negotiations and where the meeting between the negotiators would take place.

The public also talks about the possibility the US Assistant Secretary of State for Europen and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland to engage in negotiations when all possibilities would be exhausted.

The negotiations between the leaders of VMRO-DPMNE, SDSM, DUI and DPA, Nikola Gruevski, Zoran Zaev, Ali Ahmeti and Menduh Thaci, ended in failure last week in Brussels.

The leaders of the main parties accused each other for who is to blame for the failure of the negotiations.

After these negotiations, SDSM claims that the agreement of 2nd of June is no longer valid, while, according to VMRO-DPMNE, it is still valid because it was signed by all four major parties in Macedonia.

SDSM announced that they will continue with the “bomb,” but that they are ready for negotiations. VMRO-DPMNE, however, claim that the agreement of 2nd of June, which project organizing early parliamentary elections no later than April 2016, is a good basis for solving the political crisis.
