False bomb threat during Ursula von der Leyen’s visit to the government building in Skopje

-

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) of North Macedonia yesterday in a press release informed that one man was detained on suspicion of a bomb threat. The suspect allegedly said that he has placed a bomb in front of the government building that will be activated during the visit of the European Commission’s President, Ursula von der Leyen.

The threat was received at 10:32 am and MoI stated that it has taken all the necessary actions and measures and determined the bomb alert is false.

“The person was taken into custody and is detained at a police station for further procedures, upon the instructions by a public prosecutor,” MoI informs, noting that the false bomb alarm didn’t influence the European Commission President’s visit to Skopje.
