Dimitrov: We need a more directed diplomacy and an increased attention

-

The Balkan is not only on the periphery of Europe geographically, but it is on the periphery of any kind of political attention. At the moment we need a well-directed diplomacy and more attention. The geopolitics is returning on the Balkans” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Mladenov who yesterday took part in the Global Forum in Warsaw.

-One of the lessons that we learned when we dealt with the crisis is to take the reforms and the functioning of the institutions seriously. Our case can serve as an example for our partners – EU and NATO, an example that is applicative in the whole region: what is happening when one country is left too long to wait behind closed doors, without any perspective. We have to unite around European values in order the youngest and most able people not leave for good – said Dimitrov.

During his stay in Warsaw, Dimitrov met with the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Witold Waszczykowski, with the President of the Commission for Foreign Issues at the Polish Parliament, Glezos Shetina and Damon Wilson and Ian Brzezinski of the Atlantic Council and the Director of the Polish Institute of International Relations, Slawomir Debski.
