Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Fatmir Besimi yesterday afternoon met with the newly appointed High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini. They discussed “the challenges the country is facing,” reads the statement made late last night.
Besimi and Mogherini stressed the importance of reforms to advance quickly and the need Macedonia and Greece to work on a mutually acceptable solution for the name dispute and good neighborly relations, reads the brief statement.
Although it was generally expected that, after the meeting, Mogherini and Besimi would meet with journalists, a press-conference was not held.
