Beautiful sunny weather and the many guests from the country and abroad in Macedonian tourist metropolis Ohrid created an atmosphere typical of the high summer season. With buses and small private vehicles, thousands of guests from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and other countries came to Ohrid and Struga. The first large group from Denmark is also relaxing in Ohrid, and there also are a number of individual visits.
The significant presence of guests is noted on the promenade of the town quay, squares, restaurants, shops and numerous churches in the old urban core of the city. Summer gardens of the cafes are filled to the last place.
Tourist and catering workers from Ohrid do not hide their satisfaction because, besides guests from the neighborhood, for the Easter holidays and the extended weekend, many domestic guests also came to our biggest tourist center.
Individual guests from Bulgaria and Greece, as well as a number of domestic visitors, nearly filled the capacity of the hotel “Garden”. Most of the accommodation in hotel “Ching” I also filled with guests from Bulgaria and Serbia, as well as a tourist group from Turkey. Hotel “Tino”, despite the tourists from Denmark, for the Easter weekend have guests from the country and Albania.
For the biggest Christian holiday Easter, Ohrid landlords offer affordable prices for accommodation. The price for renting a bed in private accommodation is ranging from 300 to 400 denars, while completely arranged apartments are booked from 1,000 to 3,000 denars per night.
Easter holiday weekend traditionally marks the beginning of the pre-season in Ohrid. A lot more quests are expected from the beginning of May, when larger groups of foreign visitors from the Netherlands and other countries of the Benelux will arrive.
