Albanian MFA: Politicians to show moderation and to avoid inflammatory rhetoric

-

The Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued an announcement to the general public to express its concern regarding the outbreak of violence at the Macedonian Parliament.

“Such clashes and scenes of violence against representatives elected by the citizens of Macedonia is unacceptable and they’re not worthy of a parliamentary democracy. Violence does not help in solving the situation. We call on law enforcement to engage in preserving the public order and security of all citizens and their representatives”, stated the announcement

The Albanian MFA is calling on politicians to show moderation and to avoid inflammatory rhetoric that could add fuel to an already tense situation.

“Macedonian citizens expect the crisis to come to an end as soon as possible and the institutions to continue functioning normally, for the common good, for coexistence and inter-ethnic harmony, and the Euro-Atlantic prosperity of the country, ” said the Albanian MFA.
