It is high time the State Election Commission (SEC) announces the final results of the parliamentary elections and it is high time after a night and day for the SEC to announce the seats, stated this afternoon Vlatko Gjorcev the top candidate of VMRO-DPMNE list for Constituency 6 at a press conference.
“It is clear that VMRO-DPMNE won. It is clear that VMRO-DPMNE won by a considerable margin. It is time the SEC after a whole day and night to announce the final results. We are concerned because the chairman of the SEC, Aleksandar Chichakovski at noon today at 12:00pm left his function with the explanation that he had to sleep from 12:00 pm to 19:00 pm. On a day which is most important, once in four years when they need to do the job. The role of the SEC happens once in four years, or once every two years to conduct elections”, said Gjorcev and asked Chichakovski to say whether he really went to sleep or whether he went to some sort of consultations or meetings.
VMRO-DPMNE say that in many larger countries, which have populations of 300 million, where results were even closer, by a few thousand votes, the state election commissions in those countries, after several hours published results.
He appealed the will of the citizens of Macedonia is respected.
“Yesterday, Macedonia went to the polls, conclude it, count the votes and announce the number of seats. In Macedonia, we had regular elections, the whole of Europe has recognized the results and observers said that the elections went smoothly and it is time to recognize the results and congratulate the winner, and that is VMRO-DPMNE”, said Gjorcev, who said the SEC should not even think about falsifying the will of the citizens.
