About a hundred residents of Tearce, Prshovce, Glodzhi and Odri this afternoon peacefully protested due to the decision to dislocate the Office for Management of birth records from Tearce to Neproshteno.
– Tearce has a post office and, together with the surrounding villages, more than 20,000 inhabitants in this region and the municipal building is also here. In Neproshteno there is no post office, and without it, company cannot do its administrative work. Also, the village has a much smaller population than Tearce. If the management is dislocated to Neproshteno, we will also be subject to additional travel expenses. This management operates here for more than 70 years and we will not allow its dislocation – say representatives of the local community of Tearce.
Tetovo regional office of the Ministry of Justice said that in the Tetovo region there are 18 offices for management of birth records. In order to cut costs, they decided to reduce the number of offices in the region. The department also said that in the future there will be no need to operate a number of specific offices, because introduction of an electronic system for extracting files is soon expected.
A similar protest was held by residents of Jegunovce last weekend, after discovering that the Office for Management of birth records in Vratnica is also dislocated to Neproshteno. They said that the dislocation could ruin the archives and documents of the office.
