Emergency situation in Ferguson extended

-

The Saint Louis city government extended the emergency condition in the city of Ferguson for the next 24 hours. The emergency condition was brought three days ago after violent protests erupted on the one year anniversary of the death of African-American Michael Brown who was killed by a white police officer.

The protests on Monday were much more peaceful and there were no arrests in the last 48 hours. During the peaceful march for commemorating the murder of Michael Brown there was a clash between the police and 18 year old African American Tyrone Harris, who is charged with assaulting a police officer.

During the protests in Ferguson the police arrested around 150 people.

The murder of Michael Brown initiated the Black Lives Matter campaign.
