In the past week, there were 58 cases of flu which is double the number compared to the week before, informs the Institute for Public Health (PIH).
-The registry for this week indicates a lower activity of the flu virus. During last week, there weren’t any flu-related death cases. This week, PIH’s virus laboratory received 16 materials for flu analysis and all the results showed no presence of flu virus – state PIH.
During the whole 2018/2019 season, the total number of people who got the flu was 21.404.
Compared to the same period during the last season, there is a decrease in the total number of reported cases by 10.6%. The biggest number of reported cases are in Skopje, Strumica, Kavadarci, Gostivar, and Prilep.
According to the report issued by Flu News Europe, about the flu condition in the season 2018/2019. the countries have reported activity on a basic level, which indicates that the flu season is reaching its end. All countries have reported a low influenza virus intensity.
