The Przhino Agreement is key for accession talks with the EU

-

It is uncertain whether accession high level accession talks with the European Union will be on the agenda of the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, who arrives in Skopje on Friday in Skopje learns “Meta” from a senior source in the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA) .

“The implementation of the political agreement is really important. Public rumours which have been circulating that we are failing to reach an agreement could contribute to download a plenary session of HLAD (High level accession dialogue) regarding Hahn’s agenda. This is an open question whether we will be moving in that direction. I can neither confirm nor deny whether this is so. SEA seems as if they are preparing for a meeting with HLAD”, said the same source.

The SEA does not want to comment on whether the implementation of the Przhino Agreement will contribute or not in moving towards a date to start negotiations. According to them, such a scenario would mean that Macedonia would have to go back to the criteria of Copenhagen.

Next week in Brussels, the Macedonian authorities will be presented a draft report which will be outline progress and notes on Macedonia by the European Commission. However the implementation of the political agreement remains a key report.
