The citizens are asking for an answer whether the journalist Nikola Mladenov was assassinated and we are asking for an international investigation because our society is overwhelmingly politicized and the citizens don’t trust the domestic institutions, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev when asked by MP Afrim Gashi of Besa, whether the government shall ask for international investigations regarding certain cases.
Zaev said that for cases such as “Smiljkovsko Ezero,” “Nikola Mladenov,” “Divo Naselje” and “Sopot” the point is to provide an international investigation in order the citizens to find out the whole truth.
‘We are asking for an international investigation in order to have an international representative that will guarantee the facts which will be presented to the general public. If we start an international investigation now in the midst of the process for “Divo Naselje” that will derail the legal system and can disrupt the independence of the judiciary and te appeal process. The citizens don’t comment on the sentences but because they want answers like why did the group enter in Kumanovo, whether because someone has told them to do so, whether it was done intentionally during that sensitive period. The government is asking for an international investigation because of this depends whether a certain group of people will stay in Macedonia or will leave it – said Zaev.
