Elections have delayed external testing and the school break by a week

-

The external testing of students this year has been moved a few days later due to the early parliamentary elections scheduled for June 5, “Meta” has learnt from teachers at primary schools, who yesterday received the action plan for the June session.

Namely, as we were informed by the teachers, the plan states that the external testing will begin on June 9 and will end on June 14, which is almost a week late. By comparison, last year’s external testing took place from June 2-10.

The letter “Meta” obtained shows that the testing schedule will be released on June 2, unlike last year when it was released on May 28.

Nine different grades, under the new plan will be tested from June 9-13.

Teacher’s say, with all this, the postponement of the school year, will also prolong and dates for appeals. The whole process of external testing, with the new changes, should be completed by July 15, when all the results should be entered into the system.

According to “The calendar for the organization of the academic year 2015/2016 for primary schools” prepared by the Ministry of Education it states that the second semester begins on January 20 and ends on June 10, 2016, and the summer break begins on June 11, 2016 .

We asked for an official response from the Ministry of Education, but no one answered our calls.

Last year, 183, 280 students were externally tested and 17,803 teachers.
